City Council Meeting
Thursday, March 19, 2020, 7:00 pm

The Northampton City Council will be conducting our 3/19/20 City Council meeting and Committee on Finance meeting remotely over Zoom. There will be no meeting in Council Chambers. Municipal buildings are closed to the public and the City Council will conducting our work in the recommended way.

According to the CDC, the best way to limit the spread of the Covid-19 virus, to protect all and especially those most at risk, is to practice social distancing. This means "remaining out of congregate settings, avoiding mass gatherings, and maintaining distance (approximately 6 feet or 2 meters) from others when possible." The City Council is modeling this by holding Thursday's meeting, and all meetings during this time, remotely.

We are conducting tests and trying to make this new process as smooth and clear as possible. We ask for your patience if things are different than usual or not all aspects work according to plan. We are working very hard to minimize the change for the public.

The City Council meeting will include public comment via Zoom conferencing starting at 7pm, as we always do. The public is strongly encouraged to submit written testimony/comments before the meeting to help the Council read and process your comments fully during this time. Comments and testimony are always welcomed over email, but if you want councilors to have read your comment before the meeting and want it to be included as part of the public record for the 3/19 meeting, please email it by 5 p.m. on Thursday, March 19, 2020. Written testimony and comments may be submitted to the city council administrative assistant at: citycouncil@northamptonma.gov

The public will be able to watch the City Council meeting live on Northampton Open Media, as always. You may stream it live at https://www.youtube.com/user/northamptontv/live or watch on Comcast Channels 12, 15, 23. We thank NOM for working with us to make this possible. The meeting will also be recorded and available on NOM's Youtube channel. https://www.youtube.com/user/nctvgovvideo
